This spring RTPI teamed up with the Tiorati Workshop for Environmental Learning at Bank Street College to present two four-day Teacher Institutes on Inquiry Science for 50 New York City teachers.
RTPI staff worked with the teachers at the Gateway Environmental Study Center, a facility operated by the New York City Department of Education at Gateway National Recreation Area in Brooklyn. Teachers learned how to develop natural science observation and science notebooking skills in order to teach their students to do authentic outdoor natural science inquiry in the urban environment.
